Sales Reports of the 16th Tehran Auction 

Introduction 

On the evening of Friday, July 1, 2022, Parsian Azadi Hotel hosted the 16th edition of the Tehran Auction titled "Contemporary Iranian Art." 120 works by well-known, pioneering artists were sold along with other works by young, emerging artists, which resulted in an overall sales of 78/100 billion tomans. The most expensive Lot (No. 100) was a painting by Reza Derakhshani titled "The Simorq Hunting" and was auctioned for 8 billion tomans. Next was a painting by Mansour Ghandriz (Lot No. 61), which sold for 6/200 billion tomans. Both works were evaluated with an estimated price of 6 to 7 billion tomans.

This year, 18 works were evaluated with estimated prices of more than 1 billion tomans: 

• Lot No. 26, "Rabbits, Prelude to Alice in Wonderland," by Farideh Lashai. Estimates: 4 – 5 billion tomans. Hammer price: 4/2 billion tomans. 

• Lot No. 88, "Untitled," by Koorosh Shishegaran. Estimates: 4 – 5 billion tomans. Hammer price: 4/2 billion tomans.  

• Lot No. 70, "Endless Prayers – Rumi I," by YZ Kami (Kamran Yousefzadeh). Estimates: 3 – 4 billion tomans. Hammer price: 3/7 billion tomans.  

• Lot No. 95, "Untitled," by Mansour Ghandriz. Estimates: 3 – 4 billion tomans. Hammer price: 3/4 billion tomans.   

• Lot No. 34, "Ya Abolfazl," by Farhad Moshiri. Estimates: 3 – 4 billion tomans. Hammer price: 3/3 billion tomans.  

• Lot No. 51, "Paper Wings," by Wahed Khakdan. Estimates: 2 – 3 billion tomans. Hammer price: 3/2 billion tomans.  

• Lot No. 77, "The Forgotten Day No. 2," by Shahriar Ahmadi. Estimates: 2 – 3 billion tomans. Hammer price: 2/2 billion tomans.  

• Lot No. 84, "Untitled," by Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian. Estimates: 2 – 3 billion tomans. Hammer price: 2/05 billion tomans.
