Statement:

This exhibition showcases the work of six contemporary women artists who were born and raised in Iran. It seeks to challenge the way traditional art institutions portray Iranian women and the type of art they make. All the pieces chosen for the show depict female bodies in different figurative and abstract forms. In their work, the artists deal with a variety of themes, including human interaction and intimacy, gender roles, memory and identity, and power structures.
