What Blood Remembers

Statement:

This series grew out of a personal experience in which "blood" became a means of drawing boundaries and creating exclusion.

By revisiting old photographs and retelling their stories, I seek to reconsider inherited judgments and reconnect fragmented and damaged parts of memory.

Although the project is rooted  in a personal experience, it reflects standards that take different forms across cultures and societies, standards that draw boundaries between the "other" and the "self", pass judgment from one generation to the next, and turn the body into a subject of judgment and valuation.
